“Communicating with the Future” by Futurist Thomas Frey
“If your next project is not aligned with the problems, needs, and
desires of the future, the future is going to kill it!” - Futurist Thomas Frey
Over the years Thomas Frey has been a very diligent student of our relationship with the future.
It took him several years for this book to come together. It wasn’t until he was on a ship in the middle of the ocean on a dark stormy night in late 2010 that the final pieces fell into place.
We all should be aware that our journey into the future is never ending. It begins at the moment of our birth and continues forever.
Until now, we have viewed ourselves as “victims” of the future, having to accept whatever life dishes out for us. However, it doesn’t have to be that way.
This book is based on breakthrough tools and techniques that allow you to gain control over your own future.
As he always like to say, “Why bother predicting the future when you can control it?”

“Along with fresh ideas about our relationship with the future, there are many Thomas Frey quotes in the book, and the one that impacted me the most is, “What does the future want?” It matters, because if the future doesn’t want it, it will be crushed. Whether you are an inventor, a product manager, a marketer, or a job seeker, what the future wants matters to you. Yet, the future is not a predetermined monster ready to gobble us up. Our thoughts now, and the thoughts we influence in others today, shape our tomorrow. We can avoid being crushed, not only by guessing right, but by doing the right things to make the future want us.”
