Mark Dubin - Department Chair and as Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Professor at the University of Colorado-Boulder

Mark Dubin has extensive experience in the functioning of the visual system, cognitive neuroscience, immersive 3D visualization, and the use of computers in teaching and learning. He will retire in 2007 to work full-time in 3DE after 36 years as a professor in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado-Boulder.

He has served as Department Chair and as Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. In the latter position he was responsible for introducing and supporting the use of computers and new media into the curriculum, and also served for three years as the Chief Information Officer. From 2003-2006 he was the Director for Academic Development of the university's BP Center for Visualization, which had a 3D CAVE used for production work and academic research. Mark has an extensive record as a grant-funded neuroscientist, numerous research publications and is the author of the book "How The Brain Works."

In Second Life, Mark is know through two different avatars, Sidney Miles and Threedee Shepherd, the 3DE Embodiment Island host.
