
Paul Bergman - Director of the Denver U.S. Export Assistance Center
Paul Bergman is the Director of the U. S. Export Assistance Center in Denver. He has worked for the U.S. Departments of State and Commerce for thirty-five years. Before arriving in Denver, Paul was the Commercial Attaché in the American Embassy in Bucharest, Romania. He was in charge of the commercial relations between the United States and Romania and traveled extensively throughout Eastern Europe during this time. He was the first U.S. Foreign Commercial Service Officer of the U. S. Department of Commerce in Bucharest. Overall he has worked in and visited over thirty countries.
Paul serves on the Governor’s sub committee for International Tourism for the State of Colorado, World Trade Center of Denver’s Board and its Executive Committee and the Board of Advisors for the University of Denver’s Masters of International Trade Degree Program. He completed three terms as President of International Trade Association of Colorado and served two terms on the Advisory Board for the State of Colorado on International Trade. He also has served on the Board of Advisors for the Foreign Trade Zone, Denver and Governor of Colorado’s Task Force on Latin America. Paul also has served as Acting Regional Director for the Southwest Network covering the States of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Wyoming and Colorado. During the Summer of 2007, he served as Acting National Director for Domestic Operations of the U.S. Commercial Service.
He has received an award for “Outstanding Service to the Community” from the International Trade Association of Colorado and was given a lifetime membership to the Association.
Paul currently is an adjunct professor of international business for the MBA and undergraduate programs at Regis University. He has served as Chairman of the International Department and adjunct professor at University of Phoenix. He has taught at the Rocky Mountain Institute for Foreign Trade and Finance, Red Rocks Community College, Emily Griffith Opportunity School, and the University of Colorado at Denver. He has done Post Graduate work on his doctorate at the University of Denver.
