
Charles Tappan - Strategy Deployment
Charles Tappan supports the deployment of corporate strategy and facilitating corporate-level transformation at United Launch Alliance. He also is an experienced Lean Sigma Black Belt with more than a decade of organizational change and productivity experience. Prior to coming to ULA during its formation in 2006, Tappan served in various positions within Lockheed Martin including mission management responsibilities for National Reconnaissance Office satellite payloads on the Atlas II and Atlas V launch systems.
Tappan’s previous career activities include work on the International Space Station at NASA’s Lewis Research Center as well as the Hubble Space Telescope. Early in his career Tappan researched alternative energy, particularly solar power, at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, and he continues to follow advancements in these technologies.
Mr. Tappan holds a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the New York State University College at Oneonta.
