Amanda Morris Johnson - Screenwriter and Co-founder of The Shoot Out

Amanda Morris Johnson enjoys challenges in storytelling and envisioning solutions for companies of all sizes. Her clients over the past 20 years include Paramount Pictures, international publishers and internet producers, eToys and second-home real estate marketers, and individuals in all occupations. She has worked with stories for small hand-made brands to major brands like Kmart and STAR TREK to non-profit organizations. When you collaborate with her, be prepared to create smart goals and product story integrity.

She believes the strongest point of view in company or individual storytelling values present work, and then builds upon an extrapolation from there. The strategy is for a future story that entices the audience to participate. Always writing to express a creative, tactical spirit, she looks for ways to expand and infer a future-oriented brand plan. Leading her clients to consider their stories and products, she strives to endow them with more potential for reaching their target audience.

Bringing brand cohesion to bear on published and produced products, she has written in nearly every form imaginable...B2B videos, DM brochures, catalog copy, product copy, feature scripts, gaming scripts, textbooks, web content, social media, blogs, articles, essays, fiction and even poetry. In essence, she is a storyteller in all formats.

In 2004, Amanda co-founded The Shoot Out: Boulder, a 24-hour filmmaking event. Running the judging process for two seasons, she coordinated as many as 100 volunteers.  Since then, she has taught screenwriting for short and long features at Colorado Free University, Boulder Digital Arts, and independently. In many cases, her students have completed their first screenplays and are looking for guidance as they enter the wild world of script contests and query letters.

Besides writing copy and content, she has been professionally engaged as a screenwriter and has garnered representation on several, yet un-produced, independent features.

Currently, she is researching and putting together an incubator for experimental cinema experiences.
