Melanie Romero - Founder of She-Edison and the Inventor of the SnapBagger

Melanie Romero is a thirty-something home owner and avid “Do-it-Yourselfer”. She was one of the featured inventors at the 2008 Colorado Inventor Showcase where she drew lots of attention to her newly invented SnapBagger™.

As a mechanical engineer and seasoned sales manager for a high quality industrial equipment manufacturer, Melanie is particularly equipped to bring products like the SnapBagger™  from idea conception to market.  She formed She-Edison, LLC to explore and develop “Bright Ideas for Busy People™”.  She-Edison, LLC manages the sales of the SnapBagger™ as well as other high quality products that address everyday market needs.

The SnapBagger™ was born from true necessity (a.k.a. homeowner frustration)!  Melanie found that she could rake up a yard full of pesky live oak leaves in a short amount of time, but the chore of bagging them was time-consuming, back-breaking and overwhelming.  A trip to her local hardware and big box stores yielded some partial solutions, but they were mostly bag stands or bag holders that were really no better than just putting the bag in a large trashcan.  It was obvious that a better and complete solution to bagging debris was needed.
After numerous iterations, as well as focused input from other homeowners, it became clear that it was necessary to go beyond just holding the bag open to quickly and cleanly filling the bag.  Ultimately, the SnapBagger’s™ single-tool, unique shoveling and scooping methods were born!
Melanie has 2 patents plus a third pending on the SnapBagger, as well as patents pending on two other new products.
Today you can find the SnapBagger™ at ACE Hardware stores and on QVC. Tomorrow, you may find it in every homeowner's garage.
