Bill Swails Chief Designer & COO or EarthRoamer
Bill has been "roaming" since 1998, when he began exploring in his 1998 Dodge Ram based expedition camper dubbed the ER2K. His extensive expedition camping knowledge and experience, and strong educational background has been directly applied to the design of the EarthRoamer Xpedition Vehicles.
Bill has an undergraduate degree from Ohio State University in Industrial Engineering, and worked for 10 years for McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach, California. As an Industrial Engineering Manager, he optimized manufacturing processes for the C-17, MD-11 and MD-80 aircraft lines and was instrumental in reducing production flow times resulting in significant cost savings to the company.
In 1992, Bill also attended UCLA and received an MBA with an emphasis on Marketing and Finance. After he completed his degree he accepted a position with a consulting firm in Denver, Colorado and provided consulting services to the growing telecommunications industry. Bill joined Qwest Communications a few years later as a product manager for their voice over internet products to better utilize his marketing skills. In early 1999, he began "roaming" full-time in order to pursue his life long dream of adventure travel and photography.
Bill's vision and passion for design perfection, along with his systems engineering background has culminated in the design of EarthRoamer Xpedition Vehicles.
