Mike Janssen - Founder of Advanced Cosmetic Intervention
Mike Janssen is one of the founders of ACI and has over 25 years experience with medical products and health care delivery. He was the CEO & founder of Advanced Coronary Intervention, a company developing sophisticated interventional cardiology products using RF energy guided by ultrasound. In this role, he recruited over $5 Million in investment capital, applied for and gained admission for the company into a leading medtech/biotech incubator. He has also worked with companies developing EP ablation products using RF ablation energy. As a department head in hospitals and medical schools, Mr. Janssen developed and implemented safety and training programs for safe use of electrosurgical and other medical devices.
Prior to his involvement with ACI, Mr. Janssen was a VP at Informed, a company that raised over $11 Million in Venture Capital to develop physician office-based computer telecommunications systems for clinical diagnostics. Mr. Janssen has held senior management and advisory roles with several entrepreneurial high growth medical technology companies, one of which was acquired for approximately $110 Million following rapid rise from less than $1M to greater than $9M in sales. Another company in which he held a senior management position rapidly grew from less than $5M to over $70M and was acquired by St. Jude Medical for $160 Million.
Mr. Janssen has recruited and led world class teams, introduced 60+ new medical products, led 40+ products through FDA approvals, and is the inventor of more than 5 patents. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur and joining the medical technology industry, Mr. Janssen led Biomedical and Clinical Engineering departments in medical school hospitals, working with all medical specialties, including plastic surgeons. He has taught college level Electronics and related courses and worked as an Electronic Engineer in the high tech & aerospace/DOD industry.
