Andrew Romanoff - Colorado Speaker of the House

Andrew Romanoff was elected to the Colorado House of Representatives in 2000 and reelected in 2002. He represents House District 6, which covers east Denver and Glendale.  Andrew is the Democratic Leader of the Colorado House of Representatives. His 27 Democratic colleagues elected him to that post in August 2003.

Andrew has worked hard to build bipartisan coalitions. He steered 21 bills through the Republican-controlled House in his first three years.

The Denver Post described Andrew as one of Colorado's most successful legislators (July 8, 2001).

Andrew has taught at the University of Colorado’s Graduate School of Public Affairs and the Community College of Aurora. He was president of the Washington Street Community Center and the Washington Park East Neighborhood Association, and has served on the boards of Colorado Common Cause and the Center for Women’s Employment and Education.
