Myrna Yoo - Owner of Blueline Publishing LLC
Myrna James Yoo is a national book and magazine publisher based in Denver, Colorado. She owns Blueline Publishing LLC (www.bluelinepub.com), an independent book and magazine publisher with national expertise, committed to sustainability and integrity. Projects are primarily socially conscious and relating to climate change, energy and the environment. The books are marketed within Blueline Publishing magazines to those appropriate targeted audiences. The company offers authors much-needed options between getting an agent/large publisher and the other extreme of self-publishing.
Blueline Publishing produces Imaging Notes magazine (www.imagingnotes.com), an international business-to-business (and business-to-government) publication bringing exclusive original in-depth reporting of the story behind the headlines coverage for remote sensing of the Earth for security, energy and the environment.
Myrna began her publishing career in Chicago with national magazines, including USA Weekend (the national Sunday magazine owned by Gannett with over 25 million circulation and a half-million dollar page rate) and Parenting Magazine (owned by Time Warner at the time).
In the realm of online publishing, Myrna created one of the first blogs in 1997 when she logged her 18-month solo trip around the world on http://www.goglobalgirl.com/. She was contacted by the New York Times for a story regarding the site, and the ease of traveling with the internet. She lived in caves and treehouses in Turkey, had close calls with leeches during the monsoon in Nepal, debated politics with a Frenchman of her fathers generation, rounded up cattle via helicopter on an Australian Outback Cattle Station, and sang Summertime all over the world, and joined Habitat for Humanity Global Village volunteer trips in New Zealand and Alaska.
