
Hank Brown - President of the University of Colorado
Hank Brown was named the 21st President of the University of Colorado in June 2005. As he enters his second year at the university, enrollment has rebounded to an all time record, donations are on a record pace, the President�s personal staff was reduced by 10, federally funded research awarded to CU has increased to $640 million, $51 million more than when he came on board, and the governance process has been reformed.
Brown joined the Daniels Fund as President and CEO on July 1, 2002, and served there until his appointment at the University. The Daniels Fund is a billion dollar foundation left by the late cable entrepreneur, Bill Daniels. In his first two years at the Daniels Fund, he reduced overhead by 35% and shifted $2 million a year to increase grants and scholarships.
Prior to his employment with the Daniels Fund, Brown served as the 11th President of the University of Northern Colorado. Before becoming UNC�s President, he served Colorado in the United States Senate and five consecutive terms in the U.S. House representing Colorado�s 4th Congressional District. He also served in the Colorado Senate from 1972-76.
Brown was a Vice President of Monfort of Colorado from 1969 to 1980. He is both an attorney and a C.P.A.
