Howard Gelt is an Attorney with the firm of Shughart Thomson, & Kilroy. Howard is knowledgeable in all phases of business formation. His business law practice focuses on representation of start-up, small and medium size businesses. Essentially Howard serves as outside general counsel for his corporate clients, advising them on areas including appropriate entity structures; financing, including raising public and private capital; lending documentation; asset purchase and sales transactions; acquisitions and mergers; employment and regulatory matters; and corporate restructuring.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Howard served as: Deputy Director of the Clinical Education Program at the University of Denver College of Law (1969-73); Clinical Professor at Duke University (1973-75), where he taught at both the Schools of Law and Medicine, and then served as a senior staff member to Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm (1975-77). Howard entered the private practice of law in 1977.
