Russ Farmer - CEO and Founder of PBC

Since 1988 Russ Farmer has been the CEO and founder of PBC, a company serving as a catalyst for creating and commercializing technology utilizing the SBIR/STTR programs as significant sources of early stage funding.


Working seven years as CFO and Financial Vice President of a government contract focused aerospace systems engineering company, Russ supervised and directed all aspects of finance, accounting and contract management. This company grew from 30 employees to over 700 employees during these seven years. Russ spent six years as Corporate Controller for a publicly held electronics manufacturing company where he directed all aspects of accounting, along with bank and leasing company relationships. He also worked four years as an auditor for a top international accounting firm, where he audited a variety of companies, including companies in electronic manufacturing, rifle scope manufacturing, real estate development, mobile home community development, and envelope/stationary printing.

Russ has been very involved in the SBIR program for many years and has been an invited speaker for National SBIR Conferences since 2000. To further promote the SBIR program in Colorado, Russ recently formed a new venture called SBIR Colorado. He has been the recipient of the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce Youth and Fitness Award in 1989 and the President’s Award for Excellence from an Inc. 500 client in 1994.

Russ is a former Certified Public Accountant in the State of Colorado, has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering as well as a B.S. and M.S. in Business Administration.
