Thomas Frey is the Executive Director and Senior Futurist at the DaVinci Institute, as well as Google’s top-rated futurist speaker.As part of the celebrity speaking circuit, Tom continually pushes the envelope of understanding, creating fascinating images of the world to come. His keynote talks on futurist topics have captivated people ranging from high level government officials to executives in Fortune 500 companies.

Because of his work inspiring inventors and other revolutionary thinkers, the Boulder Daily Camera has referred to him as the “Father of Invention”. The Denver Post and Seattle Post Intelligencer have referred to him as the “Dean of Futurists”.

Before launching the DaVinci Institute, Tom spent 15 years at IBM as an engineer and designer where he received over 270 awards, more than any other IBM engineer.

Deb Frey: Named Vice President of the popular counter-culture think tank, DaVinci Institute in 2003, Montana native Deb Frey is the author of the forthcoming Twittering DaVinci. Using the screen name, DaVinciDeb, she has become an overnight celebrity in the microblogging world of Twitter. Building on her reputation and growing expertise, Deb assists individuals and businesses in successfully establishing relationships with her Twitter Boot Camps.

Because of the interlinking nature of the Web, Deb also coordinates marketing through other social networking sites including Meetup, LinkedIn, Facebook, Plaxo and MySpace. Her marketing efforts have driven the DaVinci Institute membership growth – as well as a tradition of excellent speakers and programs. As a result, many recent institute events have “sold out” with waiting lists of people wanting to attend.

Brian Schwartz is the award winning author of 50 Interviews: Entrepreneurs thriving in uncertain times. Beginning in early 2008, he set out to interview 50 successful entrepreneurs and in doing so, discovered new truths as to why so many of us are unable to make the leap from employee to employer, and why many who do lack success. His passion is rooted in the company he started to mentor others through the same framework he used and become authors themselves, adopting the vital mindset to succeed at their chosen endeavor. He was recently featured on NBC, CBS, and in The Denver Business Journal.

Karl Dakin is business startup veteran with 30 years of experience acting as consultant, advisor, legal counsel, expert witness, investor, principal investigator, educator, officer and director to a large number of private businesses, educational organizations, professional associations and government agencies. Mr. Dakin has served as an executive in many leadership positions pursuing business opportunities in multiple markets. Working with cutting edge technology and programs for commercialization of innovation, Mr. Dakin has brought to bear his own creative and communication talents. He has shared knowledge gained through these experiences through extensive writing, speaking and instruction.

Self-described as a parallel entrepreneur (involved in several startup businesses at one time), Mr. Dakin currently holds a leadership position in a number of businesses that have the potential to ‘change the world’. His current lead project is DaVinci Quest, a Web 2.0 company that is building an international community to conduct a series of innovation contests to solve the Top 10 World problems. Other projects include accelerated plant growth, clean energy and even the possibility for forming a new country.


 

Dave Taylor

Dave Taylor - Social Media and Business Strategist

Dave Taylor:  With a Masters in Education and an MBA, along with the experience of creating and growing four Internet startups, Dave brings a rare skill to the podium: the experience of doing what he talks about rather than just theorizing about it. He has twenty business and technical books and has been published more than a thousand times in newspapers, magazines and newsletters. He currently write weekly columns for the Boulder Weekly, Boulder Daily Camera, Colorado Business and a monthly column for Linux Journal, leveraging both his business and technical expertise.

Dave has also spoken at dozens of different conferences and events, including being an award-winning keynote speaker on both business, marketing and technology topics, taught day-long workshops to 500+ people, and moderated and sat in on countless panels. He’s also a frequent radio, TV and podcast guest and has recorded informercials and other video. Dave is known for his expertise, relaxed style and sense of humor and has been known to show up on stage barefoot, talking about work/life balance or give away books to audience members with complex questions.

Mark McIntosh: Known as “The Comeback Coach” Mark McIntosh entertains and inspires audiences of all kinds and ages with his inspirational keynote presentations, books and workshops encouraging others to “run to daylight and play like a champion” despite life’s challenges.

The father of two shares simple but effective strategies learned from his life challenges with debilitating injury, painful divorces and corporate restructuring that have forced him, at many stages of life, to effectively deal with change, challenges and adversity.

In addition to his professional speaking, writing and coaching, McIntosh, for the past 25 years has been an award-winning television personality. As awareness of McIntosh’s passion for excellence and resilience in the face of adversity has grown, he’s become a respected and popular spokesperson representing companies, via commercials and events, within many industries including sporting goods, automotive, health/fitness, home maintenance and wealth preservation. McIntosh also continues to contribute on KUSA-TV’s Colorado and Company, which he co-hosted before turning full attention to his duties as the Comeback Coach. Prior to Coloro and Company for two decades, McIntosh was a sportscaster, the final 18 years at KCNC-TV, where he won Westword’s Best Sport Anchor in 2003.

During her 10 years at Varsity, sales increased from 8M—90M and Varsity was named as one of the 200 fastest growing companies in the United States by Forbes Magazine.
