The Future of Smart Home Technology
In the past, the idea of owning a "smart home" was mostly based on some future vision with prototype fridges with Internet-connected displays and elaborate home security systems leading the charge. But at CES this year, the Jetson's home started becoming a very near-term reality, with major vendors peddling real, usable products, almost all controllable from a smartphone.
Tim Enwall, head of all things corporate at Mobiplug will discuss how smart homes are finally entering the world of affordability. Smart homes have been talked about for a long time, and some wealthy people have owned their own version of a smart homes for decades. But few outside of the wealthy, early adopter crowd have taken the plunge. That's about to change. Several forces have combined to bring an entirely new range of smart home technologies within reach for a few hundred dollars.
Dave Michels, President of Verge1 Consulting, is a home automation enthusiast and monitors the space closely. He will describe some of the products and capabilities that home automation offers the homeowner as well as some industry updates and expectations.
Join us for a revealing look at some of the latest technology and a demonstration of how it all works.
