Reinventing Time: How New Technologies for Managing Time will Rock Your World

Does time serve you or are you a slave to time?

In our current fast paced society we are often at the mercy of that thing we seem to always be running short on, time. Wouldn’t it be great if time worked for us and not the other way around?

Our current clock-centric systems are a major contributor to human health problems. We live shorter lives, produce less, and are involved in more high-stress and high-anxiety situations simply because of our rigid dedication to a time system that governs every single moment of our lives.

Join us as we take a probing look at how some of best thinkers are reinventing our relationship with time plus exciting new technologies that leverage wait times to our advantage.

SPEAKER: Andrew Novick

Time Scientist

Andrew Novick is an official “time scientist” working at the Time and Frequency Division of National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder.

In this role, Andrew has developed a new widget for website designers and bloggers that will sync their sites to precisely the right time.

Beyond his daytime job as a scientist, Andrew often makes the news with his off-hours ventures. Best known as ringleader for the infamous Denver band Warlock Pinchers, Novick can now be found promoting the Denver County Fair's cookbook (after hosting last summers X-Treme Pancake Breakfast he was named as the fair's entertainment director) or hosting “Japanese Medical Punk Fashion Shows,” and “Lolita Tea Party and Cake-decorating contests,” while running his seasonal Asian pop culture boutique, “Gimme, Gimme Pillow Toast.”

2009 found him the focus of an exhibition at the now defunct Lab at Belmar entitled "The Astounding Problem of Andrew Novick" which celebrated the often bizarre stuff he gathered over the years. In addition, Novick is a member of the national Peeps fan club and stages an annual Peeps barbecue.
