Is Affiliate Marketing Right for Your Business? - POSTPONED
The Affiliate Marketing Boot Camp has been postponed.
Ever since Amazon.com created the first Affiliate Marketing program over a decade ago, online retailers around the world have used Affiliate Marketing to generate incremental sales with a very low acquisition cost. However while Affiliate Marketing can be a boon to many businesses, it isn’t an appropriate tool for every internet merchant. This session explores the pros and cons of starting an affiliate program, including website requirements, management needs, start-up costs and much more, all taught by a 12-year industry veteran.
Affiliate marketing, or paying other website owners to send consumers to your site, is one of the least expensive ways to increase sales. If your company is already selling a product or service online, then affiliate marketing could be a natural extension of your online sales presence.
One of the best advantages of an affiliate program is that the only time a commission is paid is when the desired action occurs, whether that’s a purchase, completion of a lead form, or click on an ad. Affiliate marketing is an important tactic for both any sized company, from Wal-Mart to tiny, niche-product manufacturers. But before you take the plunge of setting up an affiliate program, there are several points to consider.
This program will focus on the decisions which need to be made to launch a successful affiliate program, including:
- Determining if your product/service appropriate for affiliate marketing
- Choosing an affiliate network
- Identifying start-up costs
- In-house vs. out sourcing affiliate program management
- Analyzing the competition
- Determining a payout structure
- Technical requirements to launch a program
- Creative requirements, initial and on-going
- Making the program attractive to affiliates
Upon completion of this program, you will be able to evaluate your company’s unique situation and ultimately determine if affiliate marketing is a strong tactic to add to your marketing/sales mix. The session will include Q&A time to answer specific questions you may have.
