Inspiring Minds to Tackle the Challenges of the Future

Just because the universe is accelerating as it expands in complexity doesn't mean the human race must follow in its footsteps! Do we always need to be racing to infinity? Or can we be truly innovative in pausing to reflect and learn why we're racing after all?

How far into the future do we need "to see," in order to change certain patterns of behavior today that are clearly working against our development and growth as human beings-and, that block the advancement of humanity and civil society? 1 minute? 1 month? 1 year? 10 years? 100 years? 1000 years? How does our sense of time and urgency influence the way we prioritize our actions in changing these patterns?

Some years ago, Think Tanks such as the Hudson Institute headed by Dr. Herman Kahn, assessed the prospects for humankind and our collective future. They would run an array of best and worst case scenarios, addressing everything from "the unthinkable"-nuclear annihilation and rebooting life on earth after we decimated it-to the practical invention of a more humane civilization that earnestly valued the primacy of education and lifelong learning.

Given our world of chronic problems and constant conflict, we need more of these daring futuristic organizations to help us best use art-science- technology in improving the state of the world and collaboratively creating a future with a real future!

This presentation taught attendees some proven creativity and communication tools that are core to best practices of innovation. Anyone can use them at any time to envision the future and create what one envisions-taking the necessary actions to thrive in the future.
